THE T-SEAM® – STANDING SEAM ROOFING SYSTEM - THERMAL EXPANSION PROTECTION

All materials are subjected to linear expansion and contraction due to changes in the temperature. The amount of expansion/contraction will depend on the coefficient of expansion of metals, temperature difference and the length of the building element.

The longitudinal expansion movements are accommodated by the T-Seam® profiles sliding over the specially designed clip head. The lateral movements are not much and can be easily accommodated by the flexibility of the profile across the width. The expansion and the contraction of the sheets should not be restricted. The sheet end details must be carefully designed to allow the expected movements of the sheets.

Thermal expansion protection can be further guaranteed in the event that the use of the Gold GAIA Big 5 2008 or Silver GAIA Big 5 2008 Award Winning Solasteel and Solacoat Heat Reflecting Coatings are incorporated in the use of the T-Seam® panels. As Exclusive Distributors to the middle East, Asia and Africa of Solacoat and SolaSteel, Tiger Profiles & Insulation can offer its clients  prestigious and environmentally friendly advantages to using T-Seam®.

How?

Manufacturing the T-Seam® panels from pre-coated coils that have been subjected to the application of the world's first commercially available heat reflecting coating for metal will ensure that the panels are characterized with all the elements that make T-Seam an outstanding product, coupled with a superior ability to reflect heat in a "green" and environmentally friendly manner.

Solasteel is the world’s first commercially available pre-coated water-based acrylic coating metal sheeting for Roofs/Walls and other applications that has significant advantages over current existing pre-coated material that was developed in the UAE through TPI’s partnership with CoolShield International.

This high heat reduction coating provides much lower heat build-up in buildings, University tests show a solar reflectivity of 74.1%. Using Solasteel results in less or no Insulation being required, and it has a longer gloss retention that existing pre-coated solvent based Polyester material. Solasteel is significantly competitive in that being a water based Acrylic it is more resilient to breakdown by UV Rays and thus lowers Energy costs while being a non hazardous Coating (Low VOC’s) ensures safer collection of drinking water. Competitively priced, it helps reduce Environmental Emissions during the coating process, has a 15-year performance guarantee on surface coating and a 30-year Substrate performance guarantee. Solasteel delivers a longer lasting, safer, more reflective, heat reducing coating than any alternative coil product.

Solasteel has displayed that it is with no doubt:

  • A High Heat Reduction Coating, providing much lower heat build-up in buildings, University tests show a Solar Reflectivity of 74.1%
  • A stand-alone product that when used allows for less or no insulation to be required
  • Characterized by a Longer Gloss Retention then existing pre-coated Solvent base Polyester material
  • A Water based Acrylic is more resilient to breakdown by UV Rays
  • Fully capable of Lowering Energy costs
  • A Non Hazardous Coating (Low VOC’s) that ensures safer collection of drinking water
  • Helpful in reducing Environmental Emissions during the coating process
  • Available with a 15-year performance guarantee on surface coating
  • Available with a 30-year Substrate performance guarantee
  • Able to Outperform or equaled solvent based products in durability tests

Even existing T-Seam panels can benefit from the award wining coatings.

How?

Existing panels can be coated with Solacoat to ensure maximum efficiency, added protection against thermal elongation, and a long lasting and maintenance free finish to the panel all in an environmentally friendly coat of 50 microns.

The award winning Solacoat is a specially created waterborne acrylic based emulsion that complies with NATA and APAS standards.  It is non-hazardous and has a unique membrane additive that rejects heat from permeating your residential or commercial buildings, protecting your properties and assets for optimal energy efficiency, cost-saving solutions.  It attributes in building an eco-friendly environment.

Through the use of Solacoat, we can offer clients the option of applying this paint to a single skin panel when clients are in need of keeping the heat out of areas that are not air-conditioned, and it can be applied, in a number of forms, to a PU sandwich panel to provide maximum heat insulation from external heat, and the highest levels of solar reflectivity while providing maximum efficiency in keeping the air-conditioned air inside the insulated area.

Certified as per the LEED’s rating system by EcoSpecifier International (please visit www.ecospecifer.ae), an internationally recognized certification establishment,  the SolaCoat product line is proven to radiate up to 80% of the infrared (heat) rays back into the environment. It is cost effective in that it requires 50 micron thickness applied to any material, and causes the internal temperature to reduce by up to 15°C. Solacoat diminishes green house gas emissions and inhibits rust, corrosion and thermal expansion, ensuring durability. It provides better energy efficiency and reduces air conditioning costs by up to 50% while being non-toxic and environmentally safe and friendly with a 10 year performance guarantee.

Through intense testing, Solacoat has proven to be:

  • Water-based and non-hazardous
  • Prevent heat versus the Conventional insulations that slows heat-build up.
  • Applicable to most materials
  • Easy to apply via brush roller and airless spray.
  • Available in a variety of colors  to cater for individual preference and architecture appearance
  • Present with a 10 year warranty
  • In line with and comply with the NATA & APAS Standards
